Journal of Special Education Technology - JSET is a scholarly journal in Special Education that primarily publishes research articles and scholarly reviews around topics in Special Education. I chose to include this journal because it often publishes studies centered around interventions with students ranging from mild to severe disabilities which ties to work that I am interested in regarding students who struggle in mathematics.

Learning Disabilities Quarterly - LDQ publishes research around persons with learning disabilities looking to improve educational outcomes for this population.

Journal of Educational Psychology - This is one of the primary American Psychological Association Journals. Its primary purpose is the publication of psychological research concerning education on all levels.

Journal of Learning Disabilities - LDX is a journal that looks specifically at the coverage of special and in-depth topics in the field such as mathematics and the sciences as they pertain to learning disabilities.


Professional Organizations

Psychology of Mathematics Education (PME-NA) - This organization aims to promote scholarship and research for the psychology of mathematics education and aims to further understand the psychological aspects of teaching and learning mathematics.

American Psychological Association (APA) - APA is one of the primary professional organizations for professionals representing psychology. Its arm is far reaching including all professionals in psychology promoting research and circulating psychological knowledge through journals, books, conferences, papers, reports, and publications.


National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER) - This organization is focused on advancing special education research to support the expansion of knowledge in areas that will aim to improve outcomes, educational and otherwise, for all children with disabilities. It is one of four centers established under the Institute of Education Sciences which is part of the U.S. Department of Education . 

American Educational Research Association (AERA) - The American Educational Research Association is a national organization promoting the use of research to improve the quality of education for all. 

Professional Conferences

Learning Disabilities Association of America Conference - The 53rd Annual conference will be held in Orlando, FL in 2016. Sessions and speakers will center around a variety of topics all related to support and opportunity for those with learning disabilities as well as reducing the incidence of learning disabilities for future generations.

APA Annual Convention -
The 2016 American Psychological Association convention will be held in Denver, CO. The convention has been taking place for 123 years.

AERA Annual Meeting - The American Educational Research Association holds and annual conference. The focus of the 2016 meeting, to be held in Washington , D.C., will focus on "Public Scholarship to Educate Diverse Democracies".
